The  apple tree  ( Malus domestica ) is a  deciduous   tree  in the  rose family  best known for its sweet,  pomaceous   fruit , the apple . It is  cultivated  worldwide as a  fruit tree , and is the most widely grown species in the  genus   Malus .  The tree originated in  Central Asia , where its wild ancestor,  Malus sieversii , is still found today. Apples have been grown for thousands of years in Asia and Europe, and were brought to North America by European colonists. The story is about a poor lad named Ali Baba ( Dharmendra ) who lives in the town of Gulabad, somewhere in central Asia, with his mother and elder brother Qasim who owns a small petty shop. Ali Baba's father Yousuf is a merchant in a faraway land who has never returned since he last left when Ali Baba was born. So poor Ali Baba makes a living out of selling timber cut from the hills. Gulabad is terrorized by a band of 40 dacoits. They hide their loot in a magical cave in the deserted hills.
